So while you (you as in my watchers) are waiting for me to finish my last 3 artworks (to put in the Copyright package for the US Library of Congress/Copyright Office) & are looking forward to seeing new artwork, I decided (last week) that I would do a fan art for the time being. Sleepy Hollow is one of my favourite movies (out of many movies I love). I've always liked Katrina Van Tassel's outfits & the one she wears in the ending is my favourite. So here it is!
I really like how this came out. And it's funny, I only drew & painted this in just a few hours...it came out rather nicely. I loved drawing & colouring her dress...stripes are fun. I wanted this to look like a portrait on a wall...something of the sort. As for the Van Tassel crest...I don't think it ever was showed in the movie, was it? So I based it off the Van Garrett crest (which is in the beginning of the movie). I also tried to make Katrina's face look a bit like Christina Ricci...I hope it resembles her a bit.
This was drawn with Copic Multiliners (0.03, 0.05, 0.1, & 0.3) and then coloured in Koi Watercolours & a tiny bit of Copic Markers. I finished this last week on 4/3/09.
wow very nice! I recognized the character right away I'm also a fan of the movie

amazing details!! (as always)...her dress looks sooo detailed and pretty!!! I can't imagine how do you get to do such details on the ruffles of the dress!! my eyes would have gone blind!!
Gotta echo *life-take on the unsaturated colors--they're great to see! I love love LOVE the clouds in the background... this picture has such a great "glum" feeling to it. And what awesome detail on the dress. ^^
I've never seen Sleepy Hollow, just yet another film that came out when I was growing up that I missed somehow. This reminds me that I totally need to see it since I usually like Tim Burton's stuff.

Her dress looks absolutely beautiful; I love how you rendered the drapery and the striped pattern accompanying the folds. Her hair looks gorgeous as well.
Your style is consistently improving, your latest drawings really show some new horizons your art has been taking.

When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Have a great time everyone and please fav this article so as many people can see the featured works. I would recommend seeing each one and faving them too.

IMAGINARY EDWARD: No, Bella! Don't go any closer, my sweet moron!
BELLA: So... wait. If I risk my life in incredibly stupid ways, I'll have hallucinations of my ex-boyfriend berating me? SWEET.
