One of my Steampunk characters...Rosalind Lavender. She's in this [main] Steampunk pic that I submitted a while back. (Pssst, go look at it!) [link]

:bulletpurple: Rosalind Lavender (age 26) - She is what you would call a "Saloon Girl", who works in pub that Schuyler frequents. She is one of those ladies that will get drinks & whatnot for her customer; she always goes for Schuyler when he comes into the pub and will stand by him while he plays cards. She has strong feelings towards Schuyler (but doesn't know how he feels for her).

Drawn with Copic Multiliners (in various widths) and coloured in with Koi Watercolour & Copic Markers. The gradient background was done in Photoshop.

Please visit my gallery & take a look. :)

A pirate walks into a bar. The bartender notices he has a steering wheel sticking out of his trousers and asks, “Hey, buddy, doesn’t that thing hurt?”
“Yarrrr!" the pirate replies,"It’s drivin’ me nuts!”

She's very lovely, and sexy. :D

Question--when you're adding gradients in the background, do you have a special PS effect you use to just make it cover the white background, or do you just make a gradient layer and cut out the rest of the background by hand? Digital backgrounds never seem to work well for me when I try to add them.

She is beautiful, I really love the detail of the design on her outfit, it is very "saloon-ish". Very nice work!

First things first, I scan my artwork & then put it into Photoshop. After I make it the size I want, then I open up a new (blank) "sheet" in the exact same size of my drawing. After I do that, I copy my drawing and then paste it onto the blank sheet (as a 2nd layer). I click on the 1st layer & make my gradient. After I do that, then I use "Magic Eraser" to clear off the area around my drawing. In order for my traditional work to blend in with the computer background, I use the Blur tool to go around the edges of my drawing. I try not to use Photoshop for backgrounds, but on this, I wasn't sure what colour to make it, so I had to use Photoshop. ;)
